Dancing Like A Star DanceSport Academy presents the Adult Amateur DanceSport Program in Metro Atlanta. Currently, Dancing Like A Star Academy is working together with two major organizations in the US that sanction DanceSport competitions, USA Dance and the National Dance Council of America (NDCA). As a result, our Adult Amateur DanceSport Program gives the knowledge and insights to compete in both of these organizations.
Adult Amateur DanceSport program is designed for those beginner ballroom dancers who are willing to step up in their dancing journey. All dance enthusiasts at least once should try competitive ballroom and DanceSport dancing. You will perform with your dance partner in front of the audience and will be fairly judged by qualified DanceSport adjudicators from the USA and all over the world.
Adult Amateur DanceSport courses are structured by your prior skill levels or proficiency. Therefore, absolutely every student, regardless of his/her expertise in ballroom dancing and DanceSport, will learn and perform on a “level playing field”. At the time your skills and proficiency improve, you are eligible to advance and move up to the next level on the professional dancing ladder.
Each dance has its list of recognized steps associated with it. In the professional DanceSport world, we call it “syllabus”. Interestingly enough, each dance consists of exactly 3 parts or syllabus – the bronze steps, silver steps, and gold steps. And at Dancing Like A Pro DanceSport Academy in Metro Atlanta, we assure you that together we will learn all of these steps.
In general, all steps of a given level are grouped based on the level of their difficulty. At all levels, attention to technique will always aid in the execution. Let’s take a closer look below:
1. The bronze level steps are fairly basic. They provide a good grounding and understanding of the nature of each dance.
2. The silver level comprises all of the bronze steps plus a few more, slightly more advanced steps. Thus, it ensures more comprehensive and beautiful dance movements.
3. The gold level incorporates all of the bronze and silver steps, with the addition of a few more steps. As a result, it allows you to become a top-notch DanceSport and ballroom dancing artist.

International Standard: Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep.
International Latin: Samba, ChaCha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive.
American Smooth: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz.
American Rhythm: ChaCha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo.
Amateur DanceSport group classes offer a great way to socialize within the dance classes with other students while learning patterns and general concepts of the dance. To refine the movement, improve coordination and technique Dancing Like A Star Academy also offers private lessons.
